Croaker Festival
An All-American Small-Town Independence Day Celebration
Oriental, Pamlico County, North Carolina

We had a wonderful time in 2009 and hope that you were here with us! We're starting to update our pages with 2009 pictures and information. For the 2009 Parade pictures, click here. (It takes a few moments to load the pictures ...)
The Pamlico County Croaker Festival takes place every year the first weekend of July, hosted by the wonderful folks in the Town of Oriental, North Carolina. Since July 4, 1980, this festival, it's volunteers, and it's sponsors, have provided an event where families can come and enjoy an old fashioned family Independence Day celebration.
On July 4th, 1980 the Oriental Women's Club put on the three-day event complete with a fishing contest. It was done in the spirit of benefiting the Pamlico County non-profits. Through the years, it has ebbed and flowed with each group of volunteers that have worked to put it together, but the purpose has remained the same: We do the work to put on a wonderful festival to benefit the non-profits in Pamlico County, while providing an event where families can come and enjoy it together.
We encourage you to support our advertisers, thank our waterfront home owners, and shake the hand of all the volunteers from those who put the festival together to those who are working in the booths and participate in the parade.
The festival would like to thank those special donors who give without recognition and all of these these wonderful people work hard for months to make sure that everyone has plenty of food, fun, music, and a fireworks show that's the best around.
We hope you can come and discover the fun-filled activities and events that await you in this friendly eastern North Carolina village.
Join us for Croaker Festival 2009 on July 3 and 4!
