1. RULES

1.1 The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020. Racing rules that are changed will appear in full in the sailing instructions.

 


2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

2.1 The Oriental Dinghy Club (ODC) is the organizing authority. The regatta is open to all boats of the Sunfish, Optimist, FJ/420 One Design classes. A class consists of a minimum of 3 entrants.

2.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and submitting it, together with the required fee, at registration.

 


3. SCHEDULE

3.1 Registration:Saturday, July 1, 2017, 1000 to 1130 on the lawn at Grace Evan’s house at the end of Midyette Street, Oriental, adjacent to the Wildlife ramp at the foot of the bridge over Smith Creek. All scheduled shore events will take place on that lawn. Launching will take place at the Wildlife ramp.

3.2 Date of Racing: July 1, 2017.

3.3 Number of races: Will be announced at the Competitor’s meeting and will be at the discretion of the race committee.

3.4 A Competitor’s meeting is scheduled for 1130.

3.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is 1300 (1 PM).

3.6 After the race(s), there will be awards and refreshments.


4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

4.1 The sailing instructions will be available at registration and will be available on the ODC website.


5. VENUE

5.1 Racing will be conducted in the waters of Oriental, NC on the Neuse River and the creeks adjacent to the town.


6. THE COURSES

6.1 The racing area and courses will be defined at the Skippers meeting.


7. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

7.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.


8. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

8.1 Extra parking will be available at 307 Midyette Street just north of the Wildlife ramp.
